CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.

The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

I bought the car November 2015, battery dead 7 months after purchase. Bought a new battery at that time. Then 13 months later, dead battery, got a new replacement under that battery warranty. Now 3 months after 2nd replacement, went out and guess what, dead battery. So I am now in year 3 of purchase of the vehicle and I am going on battery #4. There has to be an issue with the car over draining when not started for 5 days. But the dealership is telling me it is not they're issue.

If the car sits for 5 days or more it won't start. Battery has been replaced once. Dealer says nothing can be done.

I think battery is defect because by daughter has 2015 Dodge Dart has same problem. The roadside assistance guy owns 2015 Dodge and he had to replace his battery also. This is terrible, no warning battery is having problem, cut car off and will not crank again.

Came home from a business trip. Went to start the car and the battery was totally dead. Nothing worked. Thank heaven I hadn't flown out and the car was at my home rather than the airport.

I used batter charger to recharge and started.

Definitely concerned that car will repeat this if not run on a regular basis. I was only gone 10 days!

Bought a new car for the reliability..... so much for reliability!

My Chrysler 2015 200C is 6 months old. Went out to start the car and it will not turn over. Lights, instrument panel, radio all work but won't turn over to start. This is a push start vehicle and the RUN light was on so I pressed again hoping the RUN would go off and it did not. I guess the car thought it was running but it was not. Left it and called the dealership service department who gave me the number to call for Chrysler to tow the vehicle to the dealership. Car towed to dealer today. 5 hours later and still have not heard what the problem is. The problem is a dead battery. The problem is what caused the dead battery in a 6 month old garage kept car. There has to be an electrical drain on the battery or the battery was a DUD when it was manufactured. Will post the dealership solution and hopefully they get it right and I will never have this problem again.

Update from Jan 30, 2015: Electrical system completely checked and only found dead battery to be the problem.

In the beginning of November my car wouldn't start, it was completely dead. I called Triple A and they came out and jump started it. I called the dealer where I bought it after the tow driver told me a new car shouldn't have to be jumped like that. So I complained and they told me they were sorry after they asked if it was working now. Of course it was, so I shrugged it off.

I had another incident on 12/8/14, car would not start, called Triple A and they came out and jumped it. I got to the gas station and the car died. I tried starting it and it started and made an awful noise and went dead again. This time I called the dealer. They gave me they Chrysler number for the warranty. Needless to say after another day of not working at my job. It was fixed. New battery.
