CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.
The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.
Check engine light came on with P0128 trouble code. Code says coolant temp not getting hot enough. Also the red overheat light would come on occasionally but if you kill the car and restart it after ten seconds the temp level read normal. Took it to the garage and they pressure tested the cooling system exposing several leaks in the hose connectors. The garage replaced the hoses which cost $60-80.00 each. This fixed the red overheat light problem but the P0128 code persists. Looks like it's back to the garage for another expensive repair around $300.00 this time to replace what is apparently a factory defect thermostat. Seems to be a common problem well known on the internet but somehow manages to stay under the radar at the chrysler corporation. hmmm.
