CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.
The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.
Driver’s side headlight making contact with bumper, causing the paint to chip off.
a. Dealership sent pictures of the issue to Chrysler, and it was approved for a warranty repair.
b. Front bumper was removed, repainted, and adjusted around 12/11/15.
c. Within two weeks, the paint was chipped in the exact same spot. The headlight is still making contact with the bumper on the driver’s side. There is proper spacing between the passenger’s side headlight and the bumper.
d. Vehicle spent another 4 days at the body shop, and it's obvious that the body shop simply filled the affected area and painted over it. The headlight is still sitting on the bumper, so the paint is going to chip again.
Since the summer begin I've been noticing this bumper mainly on the driver side headlight bulging up on the heat causing in the headlight edge to scrape paint off I talked to the dealership about this it's a service manager do not believe what I'm saying to him he thinks he's a body shop manager and tells me that my car been hit in the front there's no proof that and he says that is the best body paint job he ever seen he says whan looking at the bumper cover and i say yeah because is from factory paint is never been hit, if they had there would've been marks and evidence left on the bumper. fix he offered to put a new bumper and I but I have to pay for it I told him this vehicles is under the warranty Dan he says it will not be on the warranty if it has been hit have to take a look at it sent a picture to Chrysler and tell them what's going on with this
The bumper sticks out farther than the headlight and has resulted in a noticeable gap. I also noticed that the ACC sensors don't look similar and are cockeyed. The body shop believes that because it is hot here in Tennessee, that the bumper is swelling. It is covered under warranty, but the body shop manager didn't think he could do anything about it.
