When I turn on the heat, the passenger side vents blow cold air. This is a problem to drive using my air/heat because it's draining my coolant. This causes my temperature gage to rise. This happens regardless of my car being stable or in motion. This, at times, also causes my windshield to become foggy.

The passenger side heat is not working, this appears to be a very common issue with this make and model. The issue get worst overtime as it is now affecting my ability to properly defrost my padsanger side windshield as well as the passenger side window which is causing a safety concern due limiting my visibility. This is driving hazard to me and other drivers during the winter.

The right side (passenger side) of vehicle gets very little heat. This caused the entire car to be cold. The defrost does not melt ice on windshield. This first happened when the car was 11 month old. The dealer replaced the radiator, heater core and cleaned the block. He said these were full of sludge. Today, March 2015) at 34017 miles, I picked up the car from the dealer after complaining of the same lack of heat and the same was reported, replaced radiator, heater core, oil filter cooler and flush cooling system. Also stated on the repair invoice "performed test and repair per star case [xxx]". this is apparently an account to charge the repair back to chrylser. Chrysler knows of this problem. The service advisor told me that someone at manufacturing plant added a sealant to stop leaks. He said it is well known not to use this sealant because of the problems it will eventually cause in the system. This has been repaired twice, I have no reason to believe that it will not happen again. It has been paid by warranty but some day it will be out of warranty and I will not be the one paying for it!!!! Chrysler must be held accountable for this and make a permanent correction to this problem. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

2012 Chrysler 200 heater issue. Vehicle will not warm on passenger side preventing defogger to reduce ice or snow from windshield. The vehicle was taken to Chrysler dealership and after several attempts to remove sludge from the radiator and heater core the heater still will not maintain heat to the passenger side which is a safety issue in keeping the windshield clear of ice or snow. Dealership indicated that heater core, radiator and coolant reservoir will all need to be replaced. In reading various forms its known that Chrysler uses some type of chemical to plug any pin holes in the radiator and this product is causing a sludge in the system and creating the problem. Chrysler will not or indicated after calling, they will not pay the $1700 cost of the repairs that were created during manufacturing.

The passenger side stopped working no heat. Took the car to dealership and they flushed the system with chemical and coolant a lot of junk came out. That didn't work now dealership says heater core and radiator needs replaced $1700. I research this and there has been a problem with 2012 with the same problem. There should be a recall.

In March 2014 owner noted a problem with the HVAC system - no heat was delivered to the passenger side air vents or heater vents in cold weather. During routine oil change mechanic noted severe discoloration of engine coolant and buildup up sludge in coolant expansion tank. Took vehicle to dealer for diagnosis. Dealer stated that the coolant had been contaminated with the addition of the wrong type of coolant. Per Chrysler star # S1207000008, dealer flushed coolant system multiple times and commented that if that didn't work they would have to replace the heater core, radiator, oil cooler, and expansion tank. When repairs were completed owner noted that the temperature output from the air and heater vents was 20 degrees lower on the passenger side than the driver side. Dealer stated that repairs were complete. Owner is in process of contacting Chrysler to have heater core and radiator replaced.
