I purchased my 200 new, was thrilled with the price and how comfortable it was. Was working then and drove it every day. Then I retired and had surgeries that prevented me from getting in and out of the car as it was too low. It sits in the garage and now won't start so have the battery replaced, which I might add is in the dumbest place in the world! Since the battery replacement it still isn't driven much only has 27,332 miles on it and we have to constantly charge the battery. What the neck! Now we keep a trickle charge on it so the darn thing starts. Very disappointing.

This car is simply a money pit poorly built. I have a 2012 Chrysler 200 I have had to change the alternator the electronic throttle system and now the battery. The Battery constantly dies the alternator was replace the throttle system had to be replaced. I cant wait to trade out this vehicle. I will never purchase a Chrysler again. Then the placement of the battery who dumb idea was that.

I bought the car in May 2015 with 32,000 miles on it. Right away I had to replace all 4 tires, Air Filter, Cabin Air Filter & the car also takes off very slowly in first & second gear (has a little more power with the auto stick), this car was supposed to be pre-owned certified, what horse sh*t!!

At 33,000 the rotors in the front are warped and need to be replaced (haven't done it yet). At 35,000 miles I just replaced the Battery & Alternator. This car was supposed to be present for myself and all it has been is a problem (money pit). I went from a 2009 Hyundai Elantra with NO problems to this, should have stay with the Hyundai.

UPDATE to constant battery failure. Well, after my battery was replaced and a new pcm installed, I was told issue was resolved and returned the rental that I had had for 5 days. 2 days later my battery light came on yet again. Car is back at the dealership and I'm back in a rental. I believe they are now going to order me an alternator. I really hope this is the issue. I'm so sick of this

Tried to start car...no turn over noise, lights worked, radio, etc..just would not start.. Called Chrysler roadside assistance, guy showed up and said "definitely not a battery issue".. Boosted it, car started, brought it to dealership where they charged battery and said car was fine. One week later to the day, car was dead, no turn over noise, lights worked, radio worked just would not start.

Called Chrysler roadside assistance yet again, got a boost and drove back to dealership. Was told "you need a new battery." I said, "are you sure, they just checked it last week and said it was fine." "yes, you need a new battery, it has been replaced, have a nice day." Less than a week goes by, car won't start..same as above..called Chrysler roadside and brought back to dealership,,,they tell me, "oh, it must be the pcm so we have ordered you a new one, but in the meantime we have charged your battery and your car is perfectly safe to drive..we will call you when the part is in." I ask for a rental as I did not feel safe (I have a gold plan warranty..everything is covered, not just powertrain for 5 yrs or 100Kms), they tell me none are available. 4 days later, car dies again, I call the dealership pretty angry this time, told them I was getting a rental, got it. Service manager told me there was miscommunication on their end and said they should never have given me my car back without the pcm being installed as now they have no codes to read... I'm like, did I mention the tow truck driver said it was not the battery? So now they want me to leave the car there for a few days so they can see if the problem will happen again with it sitting on their lot? OMG..really????

A POORLY DESIGNED VEHICLE WITH FEW REDEEMING QUALITIES. UNLESS YOU'RE 85 OR OLDER, YOU ARE WAY TOO YOUNG TO BE SEEN IN THIS CAR.

WE BOUGHT THIS CONVERTIBLE NEW IN 2012 AND IT NOW HAS 5000 MILES ON IT. WE HAD TO HAVE THE DRIVER'S WEATHERSTRIP REPLACED 3 TIMES BEFORE THE PART WAS RE-DESIGNED TO WORK PROPERLY. THERE IS A DEAD SPOT IN THE ACCELERATOR THAT THE DEALER SAYS IS NORMAL (?), THE SEATS ARE NOT VERY WELL PADDED AND YOU CAN FEEL THE HEATER ELEMENT IN THE BOTTOM SEAT CUSHION, THERE IS CONSIDERABLE TORQUE STEER IN BOTH DIRECTIONS ON HARD ACCELERATION, FUEL MILEAGE IS LESS THAT 20 MPG., THE CONVERTIBLE TOP MECHANISM IS A NIGHTMARE JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN AS THE TOP GOES INTO THE TRUNK AND THERE ARE MANY MOTORS THAT NEED TO WORK IN A SPECIFIC ORDER, THE TRUNK LID IS HEAVY DUE TO THE TOP BOOT MECHANISM THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THIS LID AND IT TAKES BOTH ARMS TO OPEN THE TRUNK. EXTERNALLY THE CAR LOOKS SHORT AND STUBBY DUE TO THE HIGH REAR DECK; BACKING UP IS TREACHEROUS AS THE HIGH REAR DECK BLOCKS VISION AND COULD BLOCK AN OBJECT LESS THAT 3 FEET IN HEIGHT.

MY ADVICE IS NOT TO PURCHASE THIS CAR; I WISH I HADN'T!

Update from Nov 12, 2013: THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO BE A SHORTED OUT BATTERY THAT ALSO DESTROYED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER'S SERVICE MANAGER, THEY HAD TO RUN 2 HOURS OF TESTS PER CHRYSLER DIRECTIVE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE AND PROBLEM. SINCE THIS CAR ONLY HAS 5,000 MILES ON IT ALL REPAIRS AND PARTS ARE COVERED BY THE NEW CAR WARRANTY.

HOPEFULLY, MY WIFE WILL HER CAR BACK TOMORROW (ONLY TOOK 3 DAYS TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE BATTERY). BETTER YET, MAYBE IT WILL CATCH FIRE AND I WON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT IT ANY MORE!

How can Chrysler sell a car that needs to be driven a lot of miles each day so the battery can recharge? Perhaps they should've said that lack of driving can cause the battery to die at the time of the sales pitch. Along with a spare tire, they should include a battery charger for each vehicle. My 2007 hummer can sit for a week and the battery is just fine, I use my 2012 200 for 3 months driving 3 miles a day and the battery dies...
