This is just unbelievable, I take responsibility for dropping the ball and not doing due diligence before letting my wife buy this car, I check everything out on internet for as much information as I can before I buy anything and I didn't on this and trust me we are paying for it, it especially hurts that I gave up my Harley Davidson on trade in order for my wife to get this dream car of hers.

The brakes are what everyone else said, the rear brakes are so loud on the squealing it is just unbearable, I have paid for new brake pads, rotors turned, stop squeal all to no avail, this is a design flaw. I called Chrysler corporation 3 times and 3 times I got a different reason why they will do nothing, they act like I was the only one who had ever called with this problem. Where is the government agency that is supposed to protect consumers? Through due diligence I have discovered that this has been going on for 5 years that I can verify and yet Chrysler continues to get away with this.

After coming to this website and reading the things posted now the brake noise is the least concern I have, there is a joke that you never see a Harley parked at shrinks office but I admit anger has now turned to being very upset because I cant do anything about it, there are problems posted on here that I want everyone to understand could get your wife killed, it is very depressing. Now the only option we have is either keep it and hope that it doesn't completely fall apart or sell it and take a $4000.00 hit and the get hit on the FICO for more inquires to get another vehicle. I know I rambled but if anyone is on the fence about buying this car then 1st congrats for looking before you bought it and run don't walk out of anyone trying to sell you this car, save yourself being sick and not getting any sleep and do not buy. Thank you.

3 times I took it to the a dealer. First time does not hurt anything. Second time, may be you went through a mud puddle. Third time does not create a problem. After that I gave up, but now lets see what you have to say. Actually the problem is getting worse. Thank You.

Been driving my 2012 Chrysler 200 since new. Have complained numerous times to dealer and corporate about brakes squealing (I say it sounds like a pig squealing). They all say it is normal and there is no fix. Problem is definitely worse in reverse. Has anyone come up with a solution?

Brakes on 2012 Chrysler 200 always squeaking. Embarrassing....I'm told by several they are 'known' for that and no fix. That's not right.

Rear brakes SQUEAL. Annoys my neighbors. Dealer says I have to live with it, can't fix. The dealer knowingly sold me a car that was defective. Class action lawsuit?

Now why is it that most Chrysler car brakes squeal. My car brakes squeal every time backing up. It is a very annoying sound. And I'm told that this is just the way Chrysler cars are, now you can't tell me that something can't be done about this.

Brakes squeal when backing. Dealer says no solution. Humph! Chrysler probably won't have a "fix" until my warranty has expired. I've driven a Chrysler for most of my adult life and never had to complain about the car.

I love my car but this brake thing got to go. It crazy that I am riding in a 2012 Chrysler 200 & my baby have a 1975 Cutlass in which doesn't make a sound. When I first purchase this vehicle I returned it back twice for brake problem. The front brakes and the back were changed out. The next time the rotors was turned. Okay the squeaking stopped and started back. Now I am riding around with a loud squeak will ready car.. Come on Chrysler!!!!

The brakes make a horrible squeal when backing up applying the brakes and now it is starting to do the same thing while applying the brake going forward. My dealer says there is nothing they are willing to do. I have been living with the problem since I purchased the vehicle. I have asked the owners of at least 5 other 200 and they are having the same problem. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer with the same problem multiple time and it still remained unresolved. I called the factory and they beat around the bush not really admitting there is a problem with the brakes. This is not acceptable. This is an engineering problem and I am expecting Chrysler to resolve this issue even if the brakes go out of warranty. They need to step to the line and fix the problem.

Signed Concerned!

Current problem: Brake squealing when backing up in my Chrysler 200..the problem started in Dec of 2012 I purchased this car brand new with only 200 miles on it. I took in to my Chrysler dealer and the service manager has advised me that they have tried to fix other Chrysler 200 brake problems by replacing the whole brake system but within a day or two the problem comes right back.. He told me they notified Chrysler about the problem and Chrysler has stated they have no idea how to fix this problem and only happens on the Chrysler 200's so that right now you have to just deal with highly embarrassing very annoying brake noise. I for one can not believe they want us to just deal with it!! What happened to the lemon law?? who wants to pay a lot of money on a car payment for a brand new car and not be able to back out of a driveway or parking spot with out the everyone looking at them because they have this high pitch squealing noise?? I leave for work very early in the morning and my family wakes up because they can hear me leaving the driveway because of the squealing sound... so you can imagine how my neighbors feel...... I have tried to reach Chrysler headquarters but so far no response back!! and this is only one problem I have more that I am listing .. I am not going to stop till someone in or at Chrysler compensates this problem. for future car buyers I recommend that you do not buy a Chrysler 200 this is a problem with all years of this make.
