CarComplaints.com Notes: Since the Chrysler 200 first hit the streets, owners across the U.S. have complained about how their “dream car” quickly turned into a complete nightmare because of how the engine dies suddenly while driving.
A few months after I purchased my Chrysler 200 there were a few episodes where the stereo system would shut down without notice. When I reported this to the dealership/service department, they said that they had to witness it happening to be able to diagnose the problem. (they are 2 hours away). And or course there is no warning of how, when and/or how long this lasts.
Since then there were only occasional intermittent issues which I attributed to the fact the the system needed to be reset. Such as the phone not syncing when I would start the car. I would have to turn off the car sometimes a few times and attempt to reset to sync the phone to the Bluetooth.
In addition, the lights and wipers have since on multiple occasions stopped working and I cannot drive my vehicle because it is not safe. I have had to take my car to be repaired for this multiple times which consists of resetting the module. I have been told that if this happens again, the TIPM module will need replaced and it will cost at least $1400. Apparently, the TIPM has been the issue since I first purchased the vehicle.
This is a very dangerous situation, since major necessary functions of the vehicle could shut down at any moment and cause an accident while driving. This greatly concerns me.
