CarComplaints.com Notes: Since the Chrysler 200 first hit the streets, owners across the U.S. have complained about how their “dream car” quickly turned into a complete nightmare because of how the engine dies suddenly while driving.
The car starting making a loud clinging/rattling noise, sort of high pitched. It would make the noise sometimes (about once a week), we took it into the dealer, they kept it for 3 days and said they couldn't hear it. We got the car back and waited until the noise became constant. They took the car in to fix it and a day later they called us and said to take the car back because they couldnt hear it again. So, we went back and drove the car around the dealer (like idiots) until the noise came back. They FINALLY heard the noise. They finally figured it was the water pump. They replaced it. We have heard the noise 3 times since it has been fixed (a little over 2 months) but not as bad as before. BUT, why are we dealing with this when we bought a NEW CAR in order to avoid these type of annoyances. UGH! Never again buying a Chrysler.
