- THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES THAT MAY HAVE A NO CRANK WITH A "WAITING TO INITIALIZE" MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER. TECHNICIAN MAY ALSO FIND A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P0AFA IN THE HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE 2. TECHNICIAN WILL NEED TO INSURE THAT THE 12 VOLT BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED. THEN INSTALL THE MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE AND OPEN GLOBAL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM 2 OPEN THE HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE THEN USE THE CONTROL FUNCTION FEATURE TO SELECT “CHECK HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM RELATED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE’S”. THEN CLICK ON “RESET” TO CLEAR THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES. WAIT 45 SECONDS THEN EXIT THE SCREEN. NEXT SELECT “CHECK SECURED HIGH VOLTAGE DTC ” SELECT THE “CLEAR DTCS” THEN CLICK ON “RESET” TO CLEAR THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES. NOW REMOVE THE MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE FROM THE VEHICLE THEN SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN AND LET IT SLEEP FOR THREE MINUTES. AT THIS TIME DISCONNECT THE 12 VOLT BATTERY AND TOUCH THE BATTERY CABLES TOGETHER AND THEN RE-INSTALL AFTER 15 SECONDS. START THE VEHICLE AFTER A 3 MINUTE WAITING PERIOD. IF THE VEHICLE STILL HAS A NO CRANK CONCERN FOLLOW PUBLISHED SERVICE INFORMATION DIAGNOSIS.
