- Summary
- This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician some vehicles may have a Service Stabilitrak message and a red brake lamp illuminated on the Instrument Panel Cluster. Technician may find a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0196 in the Electronic Brake Control Module. This concern may be preset after the vehicle was flat towed or just came off a car carrier. Technician will need to perform a Multi Axis sensor learn and a Diagnostic Trouble Code clear in the Electronic Brake Control Module. Then shut ignition off, open and close driver door and let vehicle sit for 3 minutes. After the vehicle has slept for 3 minutes start the vehicle and let it run in park for 10 seconds. Now the vehicle will need to be driven for 30 seconds over 20 miles per hour. If code is cleared and doesn't reset, release the vehicle to the customer. If code resets follow normal diagnosis in Service Information.
