Started getting "propulsion power reduced" error about 2 months ago. Car is still under warranty. Brought it in and said the 12v battery was defective. We replaced with a new one. Error came back after two weeks. Every time the cars Lithium battery depletes and then sits for 20 minutes, when it starts we always get this message. So we tested a theory and let the battery fully drain for about 4 days without starting the car or charging it. Then we received a check engine light. Brought in to dealer a second time with more run around and bs from techs who obviously do not work on Volts very often. They recommended we replace our EVSE (which is only 2 years old, because they noticed a little melted area on the wall end (old outlet was replaced after overheating 14 months ago). Car charges fine every night. We did receive a letter from Onstar offering free monitoring from the issue, HOWEVER they CANNOT see when the code rears its head...nothing shows on the computer...so WHAT was the POINT GM??? After "updating" the computer and clearing our code, it still happens and the local dealer said it was "NORMAL" now, apparently? My wife drives this car every day and loves it, but reduced propulsion is a very dangerous thing in fast moving traffic, or negotiating turns...I smell class action or recall. This is ridiculous. GM come on!
