Under certain, but not all load conditions the whole car wobbles violently up thru the steering wheel. Typically it occurs when accellerating or decellerating around a curve. The deaslership is working with GM enineers to resolve the problem and so far have been troubleshooting the vehicle. The last attempt was to replace the steering rack. I have not got the car back yet to see if this issue has been resolved. It has been in the shop for 9 days.

Update from Jul 24, 2012: Steering rack solution did not work.

Update from Oct 2, 2013: GM engineers took this problem very seriously and worked directly with the Master Volt mechanic at Bellevue Chevrolet in Washington state. I am very happy to report this problem was finally resolved. It was the front drive axles. Once they were replaced the problem disappeared. The axles on an electric vehicle experience extreme torques in both rotating directions. The car is a dream to drive and I am sorry all this took place to ruin my new car experience. I am an electrical engineer and a die hard Chevy fan so this was a "must have" car for me. With any new technology there will be hiccups, luckily I was willing to forgo the inconvenience and not give up till the problem was solved.
