- Summary
- This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have Service Vehicle Soon Lamp or Check Engine Lamp is on. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0534. Technician will use a scan tool to check for all Diagnostic Trouble Codes that are set, but should not delete any Diagnostic Trouble Codes found. Technician should also capture any Freeze Frame data in a Global Diagnostic System 2 Session Log. Technician will need to inspect the Rechargeable Energy Storage System and replace if it has three notches. On Volt and Ampera models check the Hybrid Processor Control Module 2 for having the latest software. Technician should update the Hybrid Processor Control Module 2 with the latest calibrations if need. If the module is up to date use Global Diagnostic System 2 to monitor the High and Low Side Refrigerant Pressures with the Air Conditioner Compress or Speed with the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning temperature to maximum cold, high blower speed. Technician should follow published Service Information diagnostics if Diagnostic Trouble Code P0534 sets. If the technician finds both the High and Low Side Refrigerant Pressures are found to be low then connect the Refrigerant Recovery/Recharge Air Condition machine and check the Refrigerant level. Technician should follow ?Refrigerant Loss? in Service Information Diagnostics if the refrigerant level is less than 800 grams. When working on Spark Electric Vehicle technician should follow all published Service Information diagnostics before and other diagnostics or repairs. Technician should use the GE 50300 Refrigerant Recovery/Recharge Air Condition machine and check the R1234yf Refrigerant level. If the Refrigerant level is low technician should follow published Service Information diagnostics. If the Refrigerant level is over 500 grams technician will use Global Diagnostic System 2 to verify if the Remote Heater and Air Conditioning Module is up to date and update if n
