This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. Technician may find a Diagnostic Trouble Code P0534 set in the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 2. Technician will need to ensure the vehicle has the proper amount of refrigerant charge. If the vehicles has the proper amount of refrigerant charge tech should update the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 2 with the latest calibrations in Tis2Web. If the vehicles has a repeat failure for Diagnostic Trouble Code P0534, technician will need to contact General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance.
