I bought a 2004 Chevy Venture from a dealership in Ashtabula Ohio it had 114,000 miles on it and I felt I was paying quite a bit for it since it needed tires and the passenger side window didn't work and the CD player didn't work. After driving it for a while I noticed an antifreeze smell. I noticed hose was leaking. I took it back and they put a new hose on it. Then I still smelled antifreeze, it was a o-ring that they replaced.

Then I heard a faint grinding noise while backing out my driveway, the rotor sand drums needed to be replaced, too far gone to turn and of course the brakes needed replace. And not the transmission is screwing up, all this within weeks of the purchase.

Transmission, stop and start, feels like we are going to get whip lash, jerking with stopping at times and then starting, feels like the back tires are spinning and not going, it then jerks into position. I have children and grandchildren that ride with me and someone @ Chevy should get their head out of their dark side and take a look. I see a lot of problems and complaints about this and even if they don't feel like a life is worth something, then shame on them, let's give them a vehicle like this and give them VERY limited access with no help and see how long it takes them to fix the situation. My sliding doors don't engage with the locks and sometimes they continue to stay locked even with shutting off the vehicle. AGAIN HEAVEN forbid someone need emergency assistance, and can't get the darn doors open. I guess as long as they make a buck - they DON"T CARE. CORPORATE AMERICA...............WHERE DID AMERICA GO???????

Had to take the van to the dealer 30 miles away, he changed the filter and fluid. The vehicle ran okay for the last few days but now it is doing the same thing, especially in stop and go traffic with the outside temp around 78 degrees. When I shut off the van for a few minutes and then drive it, it shifts fine. It seems like it resets something and shifts smooth as ever no matter what the temp is! It sound like a stupid computer/ electrical component issue but who knows.We are at a loss as to what it could be. No one seems to know what to do except replace the transmission with a new one, which is the most expensive thing to do or start replacing parts, which of course is shooting in the dark! HELP I hate newer model cars. I wish my husband and I had kept our 1971 Maverick, at least that car could be fixed easily with our own hands
