My van will work great for a while, then when I go to go somewhere it won't start. It doesn't click or make any noise. I've had to call AAA 4 times!! The first time, the tech just looked under hood, didn't touch it, asked me to try & start it so he could hear what it's doing- & it started up! Next time, he had to jump start it. He said the cold cranking amps were low & to let it run for 30 minutes & it would charge back up & be fine. But, when I did that it tried to overheat!! It did fine for a while. Then as I was needing to go some where it wouldn't start! Called AAA again, but before they arrived, I got it started, so I cancelled the service call. I took it to Auto Zone to get battery checked, since that's where I got it from. 1 tech said battery had bad cell, 2nd tech said battery ok & alternator ok, but couldn't check starter because of the crazy way the battery is placed in van, but 3rd. tech said battery & alternator ok & thought it sounded like starter may be problem, but couldn't verify! Took it to Pep Boys & they did diagnostic. They said battery & alternator ok too, & thought starter may be "sticking", but couldn't verify without more money. It ran ok for a week, as long as I remembered to make sure ignition switch clicked when I turned engine off. Ignition switch seem loose. It's supposed to unlock doors when you turn engine off but sometimes it don't. Then today it cranked fine, but after I turned it off at cemetary, it wouldn't start. Called AAA again, but they took too long to arrive, so I had someone else jump it. It's driving me CRAZY!!!
Just trying to figure out what to do. It doesn't want to start . No one can tell me what is the problem. Replaced the starter twice and battery and alternator. It ran good for awhile then started acting up again.
