Premature failure of intake manifold gasket//G.M. has new revised one "?" car has 40,000 mi 2000 chev. Venture 3.4 motor it is a known fact that G.M. has a big problem out there. Poss. Damage to internal motor if coolant leaks inside!!!! very costly too consumer./// the dexcool coolant seems to be the problem also// very corrosive to gaskets. Looked at mitchell. Tech. Bulletin found out about early intake gasket failure.with note on revised gasket. I seem to feel G.M. should take care of this even if a deductible applies.thank you for your time. 1) vehicle consistently low on oil. 2) determined that oil was linking into the cooling system due to failed intake manifold gasket. 3) gasket (part# 89017279) was replaced.
While driving at any speed, vehicle will lose all power, also engine check light becomes illuminated as the engine is shutting down, vehicle was taken to dealer, and they replaced the fuel pump. Consumer stated that engine continues to fail.
During an idle situation, (at rest or in motion), a high pitched, intermitent, whistling sound is eminating from the left side engine compartment. This corresponds in occurrence frequency to a variation in interior/exterior light intensity (flickering). Once moving (engine not idling), noise & light intensity variation goes away.

While filling vehicle with gas noticed gas smell inside vehicle. Also, found a gas puddle under vehicle. Dealer has been contacted. Consumer states vehicle has always been hard to start, also while drving the right rear tire caught fire, and the gas guage was not working properly, front windshield was cracking, also the check engine light was coming on, as well as the engine oil light, and a cracked gas tank.
Vehicle has stalled 7 to 8 times since consumer has purchased it. Dealership could not duplicate defect. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
Consumer heard a knocking noise. Took vehicle to the dealership, and they replaced transmission. Next day, vehicle would stay on as running. Dealer stated that fuel pump failed. Then, consumer discovered that there was sand inside of vehicle.
On three occasions vehicle would not start. Vehicle was towed to the dealer on all three occasions. Dealer was unable to duplicate or correct the problem. Check engine light still remains on.
