This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
With vehicle parked (not running) and all doors/hatches locked, I was able to open the passenger power sliding door. Security system did come on (lamps blinked & horn sounded), but I was still able to open a supposedly locked door.
This is the fifth safety related major problem with this vehicle -- any could have killed us -- I will try to get dates for the others which include: The van died twice while in use, the recalled power sliding door and the airbag sytem failure.
Power sliding door makes a beeping sound as if door is not closed completely. Dealership has serviced vehicle for recall 01V067000, and cannot remedy problem. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
Door lock on right hand slider is inpoerative. Van has been to dealer 6 times to repair, Chevrolet contacted, no resolution. Dealer is waiting to get a loaner car to proceed with diagnostics. I have not heard back from GM on issues. On a previous report regarding the rolling of the vehicle, it has now backed into a rock, no injuries, but GM doesn't acknowledge any problems with transmission.
The power operated passenger side door reverses when striking an object during forward travel, but cannot change direction while reversing, the gap at the base of the door is large enough for a child to slip into. Nlm

The Chevrolet Venture passenger power sliding door has a gap at the base large enough to trap a child. The door does not stop while reversing and the result of this can be seen at www.thecarplace.com/Venture.htm please, please go see this video -- third on the page. I test vehicles and have no further interest in this one. But this is a safety problem that warrants some action. I look forward to testing other power sliding doors on minivans.
