This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Vehicle started to accelerate when parked in driveway, ignition turned on, backed out, and hit another vehicle. Dealer / manufacturer contacted and cannot remedy the problem. Problem still exists..et.
Engine randomly goes to full throttle when braking. This occurs only after the van has been driven long enough for the engine to get to run temp. The van is then parked (engineoff) for about 30 to 45 min. Then engine is restarted. When the brakes are next applied the engine goes to full throttle. This is a random event and will not always occur when the previous conditions are present. (like the tragedy in minneapolis Dec 4 1998)
