2005 Chevrolet Uplander, mileage 23,344, nut that holds windshield wiper arms to motor came off during a rainy evening. Wipers ceased to wipe rain from windshield.
When leaving work while it was snowing, windshield wipers were operating. During the trip home, the wipers became jammed because of build up of snow under part of the hood that hides wipers when they are not in use. The wipers tried to move but could only shudder in place. I had to drive home in the snowfall without wipers. Upon reaching home and opening the hood I had to remove snow that was packed around wiper arms. The wipers then started to operate again. I will be bringing vehicle back to dealer since this occured at nite. Obvious the design is poor and dangerous. Thsi vehicle has less than 19,000 miles to date.
