Since day one we have had a problem with the passenger rear sliding door. At 775 miles it completely failed and had to be rebuilt by the dealer with new motor and cables. Since we have had to return it to the dealer because of the door attempting to open while driving with the warning chime and interior lights coming on causing us to pull over to the side of the road, open the door and reclose it. But recently it has been getting worse with the right rear door actually opening while driving or will not close even when pulling on it not to forget the fact that it does not have an stop sensor installed.

Our Uplander rear sliding door like to reopen by themselves. I have also had it into the dealership six times in five months. They told me several times that they have know idea what is going on. It wouldn't act up for the dealership. Finally it did do it for the dealership after they had it for a week. They said it was a handle and lock that was broken. They replaced the parts. That did not help! I finally called Chevy themselves, they looked into it, had me take it to another dealership to see if they could figure it out. They could not. Chevy came back and said that since no one can figure out what the problem is, too bad. I am so pissed! They are putting my children's safety at risk. What will happen if the doors start opening while I'm driving? It would freak the heck out of me and could cause me to get into an accident. you think that them buying the vehicle back would be a better solution then getting sewed for failure to fix the problem.

originally gm buyback; trying to get bought back again! This vehicle was purchased in July 2005 with 17,000 miles. It was a GM buy-back for problems with the sliding door. After a few months, I began to have the same problem. After 4 failed attempts to fix it, I called Chevrolet. After MANY, MANY calls, I finally got an extended warranty (4 yrs, 48,000 more miles). The vehicle STILL has problems w/ the sliding door. It has been in the shop 9 times in 13 months, and it STILL is not fixed. Chevrolet will NOT buy it back. They are offering a Customer Loyalty Certificate towards the purchase of another Chevrolet product.

I am very unsatisfied with this product and also with Chevrolet.

Uplander LT 3.5L

We purchased this car from a Chevy dealer when it was 1 yr old with only 10,000 miles on it in May of 2006. One month into our ownership, the rear passenger door started reopening and shutting by itself. Since then, it has been back to the dealer 6 times within 7 months. They can never seem to fix the problem. They keep saying, "hopefully this will take care of it.", or "let's see what happens". I am no longer comfortable driving this car. On one occasion I had shut the door, and gone into a store with my daughter. I came back out and saw the door wide open. My first thought was that someone had broken into my car. My husband now drives this since I feel that we now only have a very expensive lawn ornament sitting in our driveway. We are meeting with a lawyer this week to try to pursue the lemon law.
