In Jan 2018, I brought my car to Wheaton Chev Olds, in Regina and told them about the engine missing while driving in cold weather. The checked it out and were not able to fix the problem. At the time the vehicle had 103,000 KM. In May 2020, I got a recall letter advising that the problem I brought forward, was caused by PVC valve. I bypassed hose and charge air cooler icing for LUV engine.
The letter said to bring the vehicle to a GM dealer to have it fixed. Well, they won't fix it at their costs because it now has 180,000 KM which is more than the 160,000 they think it should have.
My problem is that I told them about the problem while the vehicle had less than 160,000. Now they want me to pay for a diagnostic (around $150.00) to see what code we get. If we get it fixed, they might help us. "Might" they said. Well, the diagnostic will not show the problem now, as it is summer and there is no fricking problem.
We spoke to two representatives from Oshawa Ont, and the two ladies told us the same thing.
I later found out that in December 2017, GM issued a bulletin advising of poor engine performance describing the problem I have been complaining about. Why did the Dealer not see that in January 2018 (1 month later) that the bulletin was issued and it explained how to fix the problem?
This is very frustrating as I am not getting anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. I can prove what I am saying, with copies of work orders, bulletin, etc. Thanks.
