I am getting a shift to park message while 2019 Cheverolet Traverse is in park. I am receiving a message when the vehicle has been shifted to park. I disengage the park brake, back up and come forward again, and the message continue to appear. I have to repeatedly wiggle or bang against the shifter for an extended period of time until the alert message turns off. This is forcing me to remain in a hot vehicle with my young children in the car in 100 degree temperatures, until I am able to successfully power down my vehicle. This is a safety risk for all.

There is a recall on other 2019 traverse, but not mine, for the message shift to park. This is what my car is doing now. It will not shut the car off and it has a potential to roll while in park because the car reads that it is not in park. I'm not sure why my car is not included. It is doing the exact same thing as what has been recalled on other 2019 Chevy traverse. I was told by dealership not to drive it because it could roll while in park. It has something to do with the brake switch. The contact is hoping to get her vehicle covered under the recall.

My Traverse intermittently displays 'shift to park' message and I was not able to shut the SUV all the way off. I would have to play with the shift gear in order for it to turn off. I am under 50k miles.

When shifting into park, the vehicle does not recognize the shifter has been moved to the "park" setting. An alert will sound stating the vehicle must be shifted into park position. We then have to shift out of park and back into park...sometimes multiple times, before the vehicle recognizes that the shifter is in the Park position.

-??shift to park-?? alert on the dash constantly comes on when you are actually parked. You then must re-start the car and put it into park again. You must do this up to TEN times to park without this signal going on. Within the last week, this has happened each and every time I have had my vehicle out. Over the last few months it has happened intermittently. Dealer says they are seeing a lot of this on my make and model when I took my car in this morning. This seems to be a VERY common problem in internet forums as to my make and model. THIS SHOULD BE A CLEAR RECALL. I can attach the invoice once the repairs are made today.

Our Traverse shows a message -??shift to park-??. This happens after we have already shifted in park. This causes a continuous ding until we are able to trick the vehicle into park. The after concern is we leave the vehicle because we can-??t get it to shift to park and it rolls damaging property or another person. This problem has left us stranded because we can not shift it.

My vehicle has been displaying a ''shift to park" message. The message appears when I put the vehicle in park. When I go to turn off the car the vehicle will not turn off. Sometimes If I giggle the gear shifter violently enough the car will turn off. I have had leave my car running on multiple occasions. Woken up to dead battery's because my car WILL NOT TURN OFF. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership on 3 occasions to be looked at. The first time it was noted and I was told they couldn't look at it. The second time My vehicle needed all new transmission work ( on a 2019 model car) but was told since they couldn't recreate the shift to park message they couldn't do anything about it. The 3rd time they were able to recreate the issue but wanted me to pay $1k+ for ''fix'' the problem. But the fix was just to turn off the display message. My vehicle will not turn off.

We bought the Chevy Traverse from Eagle Pass, Texas AutoWorld Dealership. We test drove the vehicle and made the car dealer aware that some of the seatbelts were not functioning and also that the breaks were making a screeching sound. The car dealer made notes and said he would have the seatbelts and brakes looked over at a later time. We. Still bought the vehicle and followed up with the dealership only to be told the car sales man no longer works there and that we would be charged a fee for having the seatbelts looked at totally disregarded the break issues. Now we have a newer vehicle but with faulty seatbelts and breaks.

Brake system failed. car crash forward. personal and passenger safety at risk.. The problem is not confirmed by a dealer or independent representatives or others yet, only reported to insurance. no police record., UNKNOWN. I was making a very slow right turn with foot on brakes for a distance of no more than 5 meters to make room behind me and other cars, in preparation to reverse park or rear /back parking. when suddenly the car accelerate, going forward.. the car hits a barrier which put the car to stop. I was on the brake pedal the whole time. With the car at stopped at the barrier and foot still on brake pedal, I am able to shift to reverse gear and parked the car. The impact is very strong that it damaged the front end mostly right side and transmission problem, transmission oil leak and alignment of tires. Thank you very much

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently and intermittently brake as the ABS, power steering, traction control, and parking brake warning lights would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to dick wickstrom Chevrolet (555 E irving park rd, roselle, il 60172) where the vehicle remained for over a month. The dealer had yet to duplicate the failure and had offered to return the vehicle to the contact unrepaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a diagnostic team would be sent to the dealer to have the vehicle inspected. The contact was then informed that the diagnostic team was also unable to diagnose or duplicate the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the control arm failed and was replaced at felix Chevrolet (3330 S figueroa St, los angeles, ca 9000, (213) 290-1925). Also, while driving, the vehicle made an abnormal loud noise coming from the front driver's side. When fueling the vehicle, the tank would not fill up. In addition, while the vehicle was in reverse, the brake pedal became difficult to depress. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer three times, but was not diagnosed. The failures recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The VIN was unknown.

When stopping the vehicle, the auto-stop kicks in, which sometimes works well. Other times it kills the whole car, shutting it down completely. The infotainment center goes black like the car was shut off using the start/stop button. So then it takes a bit to get it running again to go. This has happened to us 6 times now within the last 2 weeks. In high traffic areas this can be a safety concern. Also when it shuts down completely the brake pedal goes soft and drops down to the floor. All this seems to happen when it is supposed to automatically start back up after being stopped for a short period of time.

We purchased this vehicle in June of 2019, and have had it at the dealership 4 times for an issue with the brakes. To this date they have not figured out what is causing it, but it causes the brake system to lose power making it difficult to brake. We were told by the dealer just to keep driving it until they figure out what is going on.

There are continuous defects and concern for safety regarding my 2019 Chevy Traverse. I purchased a new 2019 Traverse redline on March 22, 2019 and the problems began within two weeks and less than 400 miles on the vehicle. I was driving my new vehicle on a residential road and began to slowly press the brake while approaching a stop sign when the 'service brake assist' alert appeared, the brakes made a grinding and clicking noise while shaking and felt like the brake pedal needed to be pushed all the way to the floor to stop. I brought the car in and the service department replaced a vacuum booster sensor which they said was faulty. Then two months later, with only 1800 miles on the vehicle, the same issue occurred again where the 'service brake assist' alert appeared, the brakes made the same noises and shaking. I immediately called the dealership to bring it in for service. During this second occurrence, the service department suggested it must have been a 'bad batch' of parts and offered to replace the sensor again. I returned to the dealership to pick up my vehicle and during the less than two mile drive home, the same issue occurred for the third time. I immediately returned to the dealership again and the service department said they didn't know what was causing the problem. After replacing the same part for a third time, the same issue occurred again. Ultimately, the service technicians & engineer are unable to identify the root cause of the issue and merely suggested replacing the same part for the fourth time. While the service manager has offered to continually replace the same parts, they also are unable to identify the root cause and stated I need to continue driving the vehicle until it happens again and perhaps there will be a new part updated in the future.
