In GA, our weather is definitely bipolar, so the AC is in use 98% of the year..... well, not today. 62 degrees and it's very muggy outside. Pressed the max ac button and it just blinked at me and didn't work. I'M NOT HAPPY!! My 12 year old daughter and I had to ride with the windows down in the rain!!!! I called the dealership and am seriously considering trading.
I LOVE my SUV but I bought it so that I could have more room for my kids than my '07 Honda Accord. I've spent more money on repairs in 2 years of owning this truck than I ever did with my Honda. I am very disappointed :(
If turned on the A/C blows hot air. It is set to 60 degrees but it blows hot air. I took it to the dealership for the same problem and also had the oil changed that same visit. Got service invoice back it said oil change but it said nothing about the a/c other than warranty repair. So I have no record that this is obviously a factory defect and it is now out of warranty.
When the problem recurred the car was still under the 36,000 mile warranty. Time got away from me and mileage went very slightly over 36,000 I called dealership service department and I explained to them that it started when the car was still under 36,000 and that it was now just a couple hundred miles over. Despite this they said GM would not cover the repairs which will probably be to replace the compressor.
I WILL NEVER BUY OR LEASE ANOTHER CHEVROLET VEHICLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!
The first time I had an issue with the AC was at 37K miles but didn't know the extent. The AC didn't work then there started to be a terrible noise in the heating system at around 39K/40K miles; therefore, I took it to the dealership to get it checked.
This should have never happened to a vehicle that was brand new at purchase and a little over 2 years old. I am not sure who else I should report too. Chevy told me that the NTSB should handle it, but I couldn't figure out where to report so if this becomes a recall issue in the future. I would like my money back at some point.
