In Sept 2022 my airbag light came on and dealer charged me $1,200 for a senor issue to fix, then in December 2022 it came on again they said it was a different issue related to vehicle safety and charged me for part. Then in June 2023 i received the recall notice for my airbag - I've tried multiple times to see when this can be fixed hopefully prior to shards of metal impaling me - told parts not available. In October 2023 the airbag light came on again and this time they said it was the seatbelt anchor and want to charge me $487. It appears they need to figure out a priority to fix what can harm people - if they have parts to make new cars. also it is obvious this vehicle has safety issues making money for dealer and costly both time and money (dealer doesn't offer loaners). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Back in July 2023, we received a letter from Chevy stating that our vehicle, 2014 Chevy Traverse, has a recall for the driver airbag being faulty and that they do not have a remedy or parts to fix the recall. It has been a 4+ months with no other word. Just recently my airbag light has come on saying the airbag needs servicing. This makes me very uncomfortable to drive our Traverse. My husband called the Chevy manufacture number they provided on the original recall notice and they confirmed that there are no remedies or parts to fix this recall still. What exactly are we supposed to do now"?How do I drive it and not be worried that if someone hit my car or anything minor happens, that my airbag won't deploy and shoot metal at my face/neck"
my airbag warning light comes on intermittently and the dealer has said the parts are not available for me to get the airbag fixed. I have been to two dealerships and there is no remedy for this recall. I asked to have the airbag on the driver side deactivated but was told that this was not possible " legally" because it would put the dealership at risk for liability. Well, GM is at risk for liability if I'm in a crash where this airbag might deploy. Can I have this airbag deactivated while I wait for a remedy" What are my options"
