After having to replace the engine for a known issue (prior complaint), a line on the A/C developed a hole. The aluminum hose was not even 5 years old and should not have a hole unless the part was defective. A search of the internet shows that is is a known issue. In speaking with GM, they have repeatedly given me reasons why it's not their fault. They said it was rubbing and developed the hole. #1 if it was rubbing on something that would be a design error. #2 where the hole is was not by anything to rub on. My husband works for a company that makes similar parts for commercial refrigeration and the issue is most likely a defective piece. In trying to get GM to take care of the issue, we had to bring it to a dealer, who admitted that it is a defect and that a recall should be issued. However, they still will not pay for the needed repairs and want to charge us almost 3 times the cost of the part if we were to order it online, and labor of 2-3 times longer that it should actually take.
