I HATE THE CHEVROLET TRAVERSE!!! The vehicle suddenly started shutting off while I was driving on the freeway with my three children in the vehicle. I panicked because the steering wheel locked up and I didn't know what to do! I turned on my hazards but could pull over because the the wheel was locked. I ended up shifting to neutral and restarting the vehicle.
On my way home, it continued to do this repeatedly and the following day, I took it in. There was absolutely no indication this was going to happen! There was nothing such as an engine light coming on or anything! It was the scariest thing I have ever had happen to me and my children!
l bought the vehicle in 2014 and I am now being told by the dealer that the transmission is completely gone! The dealership I purchased it from (Suburban Chevrolet - Ann Arbor, MI) sold it to me as a "certified" pre-owned vehicle still under the manufacturer's warranty with 30,000 miles on it. It has been nothing but problems! They couldn't even diagnose the problem for the a week because the "computer" they hook-up to the vehicle wasn't showing anything was wrong with it!
I don't have $4,500 dollars to get a new transmission put in it and this is my only vehicle! I really regret buying this vehicle and wish I had stuck to a Nissan or Honda brand because I NEVER had problems like this! GM should be accountable for their vehicles having such MAJOR issues like this. I'm highly disappointed in the performance of this vehicle and will NEVER buy a GM again!
