CarComplaints.com Notes: There are a fair-number of power steering related complaints which is a continuation of problems from the previous model year. Considering the problem tends to happen beyond the standard warranty (73k+) it's best to avoid this vehicle or at least be prepared for the $1,300+ repair.
We purchased a 2011 Chevy Traverse in May 2016. We've had to have 2 major repairs to this date. The last one at the tune of $2400.00 Ouch!!! ( needless to say...the repair hasn't happedned) I'm a busy mom of all boys and a college student. This being said I have no extra $ for vehicle repairs or time. This seems like it's an ongoing issue for many Traverse owners (a timing chain issue). Shouldn't this be covered by a warranty or under a recall? We have never had such a vehicle that needed so much repairing! I took out the best warranty I could get at the time...yet it still doesn't cover such a thing...how strange?!?! With this experience It makes me want to go back to a Toyota vehicle for sure!!!

The engine rattles on acceleration and we still owe money on it. "How much do you love this car" was the technician's exact words.
