CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer is known for many things, but perhaps it is most famous for its faulty fuel gauge.
This gauge flip-flops more than a politician during election season. Some report that the gauge says "empty" after a fill-up, while others report the gauge says "full" when they're running on fumes. Either way, there's one thing everyone seems to agree on: the darn thing is just wrong.
Following hundreds of complaints and a few accidents allegedly caused by the malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into the issue in May 2011. Unfortunately for frustrated owners, no recall has been announced.
I've had this whining problem with my Trailblazer for the past 3 or 4 months. I've thought it was my power steering, water pump, or other issues, but haven't found our for certain. Two days ago I smelt an odor of burning rubber when I pulled in to my driveway. It has something to do with the series of pulley's in the front, but I don't know which one. It is just one of many issues I've had with this POS.
My trailblazer has an awful whining noise, which sound like the power steeering is going bad, but it was checked and it isn't that, and I have no idea what it is but everyone tell me to check the power steering and I have no idea what to do about this problem. Its terrible. A man told me that this vehicle is a money pit.
