CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer is known for many things, but perhaps it is most famous for its faulty fuel gauge.
This gauge flip-flops more than a politician during election season. Some report that the gauge says "empty" after a fill-up, while others report the gauge says "full" when they're running on fumes. Either way, there's one thing everyone seems to agree on: the darn thing is just wrong.
Following hundreds of complaints and a few accidents allegedly caused by the malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into the issue in May 2011. Unfortunately for frustrated owners, no recall has been announced.
Alternator went out on my 2007 trailblazer. I used to be a solid chevy fan. But chevy's popularity in my house has certainly hit a new low. When I called to see about replacing the alternator, auto zone, car quest and pep boys stated to me that they did not carry or list that part in their inventory. The only place that had it was either the dealer for $275.00, or Advanced Auto Parts for $300.00. If I was to get pep boys to install it, they would charge me another $85.00 (per hour) for one hour of labor. That brings you to almost $400.00! I did catch a break a got a 10% discount though since I'm active duty. Gee, thanks! But it your going to do it yourself, a 15mm socket or wrench is what you will need and its one mounting bolt on the bottom, and two on top. Thanks after you remove a bracket and disconnect the electrical connections on the alternator. All together between removal and replacing the alternator and going to the parts store along with picking up lunch, figure about 3 hours of your time. Do like I did, I said F$#K the dealer! Chevy, I hate to say this, but your product sucks!
So the alternator bearings go out at 60,000 miles???Really GM??I've owned all foreign cars for 25 years and never had the amount of problems combined that I've had with this lemon!

Every couple months my alternator goes out and I need to get a new one. I am almost out of returns for my warranty. This is ridiculous.
