CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer is known for many things, but perhaps it is most famous for its faulty fuel gauge.

This gauge flip-flops more than a politician during election season. Some report that the gauge says "empty" after a fill-up, while others report the gauge says "full" when they're running on fumes. Either way, there's one thing everyone seems to agree on: the darn thing is just wrong.

Following hundreds of complaints and a few accidents allegedly caused by the malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into the issue in May 2011. Unfortunately for frustrated owners, no recall has been announced.

its a shame that the dealer and manufacturer know about this problem, its not warn or over used part like blower motor going bad this is under sized wires for the resistors power . a manufacturer mess up..a wiring harness melting is not the fault of the consumer. its shame we have a weak consumer protection agency ..and public service commission..and gm and ford knows this..that's why they don't fix the problems..if this was a toyota it would be recalled ..its a shame we try to buy American to keep Americans working.. i guess this is why most politicians personal vehicles foreign,,Mercedes, BMW, also motor was replaced at 70k miles speed odometer replaced at 79 k miles at my expense 4000.00..... oh yell my windows work sometimes? and my speed odometer works but now my gauges ..to many problems and in to deep to get rid of it...will not buy new gm until that start recalling problems..

Smell of electrical burning. Turned off the A/C and the blower was still blowing full. Pulled into a parking lot and turned off ignition and the blower was still blowing full with the key out. Towed to a Chevrolet dealer who replaced the module, wire harness and battery and charged me $600 ($350 labor) Later learned that the book time to replace each was about 20 minutes and total time should not been over hour. Dealer really screwed me over.

This started with the heater/blower working intermittently. I kept checking for bad fuses etc. Finally found some info on the web about some known issues with some melted wiring. Since this truck has had every other problem i have read about on the internet I looked into the wiring in the specified area and sure enough it was melted together as if someone held a blow torch to it for a few minuets. I was seriously surprised the truck didn't catch fire. I couldn't believe this wasn't a recall. This is the kind of thing that causes houses to burn down. It is the one time I can remember being grateful I didn't have a garage to put the truck in at the time. I cant recall how much the part cost but I remember it was a wire harness kit from the dealer and they knew exactly what I was talking about when I went in and asked for it by description since I didn't have a part number. The gal at the parts counter told me she had sold a lot of them. Another indication to me it should be a recall.

After buying the nicest Trailblazer I could and paying a lot of money for it, i find out that my insturment cluster has a short and the heater fan wire has burned in two. Dispite that both of these issue have nothing to do with all of the factory service that i have paid for while i have had this SUV, and that i have had my familey in it while shorts are happening and wirres are burning up, Chevrotlet says that they know that both of these issues are happening on many cars but they dont CARE!!!!!!

Well Ford here i come!!!!!!!!!!!
