Ok, so I went to my storage unit with my 11 year old son and my 4 month old son today. It was kinda warm outside so I decided to leave the vehicle running and open the door closest to my infant so that I could hear him if he started crying. I got out, my oldest son got out. I walked immediately around to my infants door to open it before I got started, and it wouldn't open! I checked every single door on the vehicle and they were all locked! I read in the manual the day before that if the keys were in the ignition that the drivers door WOULD NOT LOCK! What a lie! I have had this car for 3 days, and found out the VERY hard way that the keys being in the ignition doesn't matter it will lock! I didn't lock the doors, my son didn't lock the doors, we were opening 3 doors to unload stuff and needed them unlocked. So there I was, cell phone, keys, and 4 month old baby locked in the car. He was crying and I couldn't get to him. I found someone at the storage unit and borrowed his phone to call my dad to go to my husbands job and get the spare keys from him! This was a MAJOR pain!! In all it took about 20 minutes, which doesn't seem so long if you aren't sitting outside a locked door watching your infant scream his head off and not able to do a dang thing about it!! From now on I will make sure I roll my window down to be on the safe side! The car unlocks the doors when you shift into park, I heard them unlock, and is not supposed to lock automatically until you reach 15 miles per hour, at least that's how mine is set up. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience!!! This should never ever be able to happen!! They shouldn't write in their manual that the doors CANT lock with the keys in the ignition if they really can and will do it! Thankfully I was close to everything I needed and my baby wasn't locked in very long, what would have happened if I would have been a few hundred miles from home?!

The other issue is very serious. The doors lock automatically when the vehicle is not in drive or the engine is running. Case in point, my wife stopped at the service station to fill up with fuel,left the keys in the ignition close the door and started to fuel up. Part way in the filling as she stood there outside of the vehicle,her purse inside on the seat and the doors locked on their own. She then had to barrow someones cell phone to call on-star to unlock the doors. I did not think much on it and thought she had did something to trigger the action. Well one day I was in the sitting truck and waiting for my wife. I have the key in the ignition,the engine not running and then the doors locked by themselves. I did nothing to trigger this. Now I believe there is something very wrong. This locking by themselves will be very serious if a mother has an child or infant inside the vehicle and he or she is Possibly getting fuel or something. What if this happened and the child or infant started choking or convulsions or a very hot day and help is many minutes away. Does Chevrolet not care? Do the people who choose Chevrolet get a raw deal?
