Corroded (leaking) metal elbow from the fuel pump module to the gas lines. Failure of the metal elbow caused gas to be pumped onto the top of fuel tank and surrounding areas while driving with just a hint of a gas smell inside the vehicle. The defective fuel module was replaced at an independent auto repair shop. The technician showed me the old part and where it was leaking. Corrosion was very heavy on the elbows.

I had vehicle towed to dealer just to find there was nothing they would do since I have 70,000 miles on vehicle.
