I own a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, my instrument cluster stopped working a couple of months after I bought is used. While looking at other web site and doing a search I have noticed that I am not the only one. I have not had a repair done do to the cost of the part. Exact problems are, the gas gauge does "floats" the oil pressure gauge does not read the speedometer is non-functional.

Driving down the highway, looked down to check speed and it read zero. The tachometer said zero. I had to pull over and re-start the vehicle. Re-starting it worked that time but not the next day when it happened again. This happens all the time now. I don't know how fast I am going. I was told that it would cost me around $500 to have it repaired.

Speedometer stops working at random times. It will stick at 100 and stay there for a while. Sometimes it will correct after repeated starting of the engine. This is very dangerous and I was told it would cost $600 to repair. I have seen that this is a pretty consistent problem with this model SUV.

Trailblazer

2004 Chevy Trailblazer speedometer reads much faster than I am actually going. When I am at a complete stop, it reads up to 60 mph. This varies by day, some days it is 30, some it is 45, etc... this is extremely dangerous as I never know the actual speed I am going and just have to use my best judgment. Also, check engine light has been on for 2 years and dealer cant find anything wrong with it.

Speedometer started failing after 30-45 min of driving then got more frequent. I took it into local dealership where I purchased vehicle in las vegas and they told me it could be anywhere from $400-$600 to repair it. I have since learned in the last year that this is a huge GM issue and I am glad I did not have it repaired as of yet.
