Trailblazer LS V6

IN 2006 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP. I HAD IT LOOKED AT BUY A CERTIFIED CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. THEN MY SPEEDOMETER WOULD START ACTING WEIRD THEN IT FINALLY DIED. NOW MY BATTERY GAUGE DOESN'T WORK. THIS SUCKS CAUSE IT WILL COST $550 JUST FOR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS HAPPENED WHEN I HAD 60K ON MY TRUCK. A MECHANIC TOLD ME THTA CHEVY HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS. IF CHEVY KNEW THIS THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED ALL CHEVY TYPE THAT HAD THIS PROBLEM. I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX THIS, SO I'M DRIVING AROUND WITH NO SPEEDOMETER AND GAUGES THAT DON'T WORK. IT STINKS.

Safety issue. GM needs to recall and fix problem. Guessing speed by feel is a crap shoot. Can't take vehicle on vacation, will be forced to rent a vehicle due to family safety.

GM " Do The Right Thing" so you'll keep me as a loyal customer.

My family has always been a Chevy fan but I think next time I am going to try Toyota because the last two vehicles I owned have been lemons. This one has been the instrument panel cluster, wheel bearings on both front sides, window on hatch won't open, electric seats on driver's side, air conditioner don't cool and they had to put new compressor already, fan the cools the motor had to be replaced. One thing than another. It's been well taken care of and drove carefully, oils changed when suppose to and all these stinkin problems. Chevy needs to get better parts made and train your workers better or u are going to be bankrupt soon.

i own a 04 trailblazer. the speed odometer quit working . I had it into dealership cluster panel was replaced (was still under warranty). Then about 2 weeks after i had this replaced, i was driving down the street when the engine revved up all light gauges came on and truck stalled, and would not start. Had to let sit for awhile then started again, this happened 2xs. Had it back to dealership they did all the tests thought possibly faulty cluster panel but couldn't find anything wrong. Then less than a week later it happened again, this time i nearly hit a parked car. couldn't get it started only with the command start, Had it back in they are saying it is the wiring from command start that was causing the truck to stop. I never had a problem with the stalling until after i had the cluster panel changed. I had it back to company who installed command start, everything was good.

I own a 2004 Trailblazer LS. I thought going from my 03 Dodge Caravan was a step up. Apparently not. My speedometer has decided to quit working and after my research discovered it's not just mine. I called and complained to someone that doesn't live in the United States who could barely understand what I was talking about which was fun. I only have 44,000 miles on this car and it should be under warranty which it isn't. I just don't understand why there are so many problems yet GM can't find a solution. I have four children, one who is handicapped and it just isn't safe not knowing how fast or slow you are going. But I do not have $500 to put out of pocket to get fixed. What do they expect someone to do? Guess the option to get the old Dodge tuned up and start driving the soccer mom car again, at least I know how fast I'm going!!!! OH and FOR SALE 04 TRAILBLAZER , GREAT CAR, NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER.....ANYONE INTERESTED??

Speedometer malfunctions. After driving sometimes for 30 minutes, the speedometer will hang. Only fix is to unhook the positive battery terminal for a few minutes. Once reconnected, speedometer is back to 0. Had a new battery put in because Advance checked it when this problem occurred and said the battery was bad. Cost me $100 bucks. Worked fine for a few days and then it started acting up again. Took it to a repair shop, the said the speed control sensor was bad and replaced that. Cost me another 100 bucks. Speedometer is still doing the same thing. You can not deal with Chevrolet. In the Spring my gas tank went bad, at the seam where the feed hooks into the actual tank. I even called Michigan. They would do NOTHING! I told them I was going to sue, the Secretary to the President of GM said go ahead and sue you won't get nothing. Since GM got all this bailout money, they could care less about us poor suckers who are stuck paying the car payments. They got their money. I will NEVER buy another GM product. I did file a complaint with the National Transportation Safety Board which really did nothing either. Just hope I can keep someone else from becoming a SUCKER like me.

Trailblazer LT 3.2L V6

I had this truck 1 year this month. I traded a Malibu LS for a dependable vehicle to get myself and three kids around. Last week my service engine soon light came on and the mechanic that changed my oil stated it was my air system that could cost around $500.00. Then I went to leave work today and I was driving home doing maybe 15 mph and it stated I was doing 55 mph. I parked in my driveway turned my truck off and it stated that my truck was going 20 mph. I don't know what it is with these vehicles but I certainly did not intend to pay 16,000.00 for a truck with a $3000.00 warranty not to have these parts not included. Or all of these reviews. I think GM needs to get off their butt and take care of the people that buy these, and make it right.!!!! Any objections????? Sincerely a very disappointed Chevy Owner!!!

After getting diagnostic and labor and parts, it is just cheaper to get a Garmin or TomTom with GPS that tells you how fast you are going and where you are going.

Cant believe this problem hasn't been recalled as of yet. Coming on to this website and other browsing I've done, it appears that this is a long standing problem. Why hasn't GM recalled the issue? I'm driving down the highway and the speedometer says I'm going 110 but everyone is passing me? Hmmm...

I HAD MY VEHICLE ONLY 2 DAYS AND THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING ON THE HIGHWAY. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SPEEDOMETERS FOR THE YEAR OF THIS VEHICLE AND TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO A CHEVY DEALER. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE CHEVY DEALER AND HE SAID THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ON MY SPEEDOMETER AND IT WOULD COST CLOSE TO $500.00 TO FIX.

We were told this is a common problem with Trailblazers. Even though warranty had expired, because we have such a good relationship with the dealer, they spoke with GM on our behalf and it was paid by them.

Trailblazer V6

  • Automatic transmission

The speedometer works for a day or two and then stops working for three or four days. The dealer near me said that I would have to replace the whole dash unit to fix the problem. I'm going to wait a week or two for any recalls and then figure what I'm doing after that. It's just tough riding around downtown trying to figure out what 30 is when it says that I'm going 120. What is more frustrating is trying to figure out 55 on the highway. I'm sure I'm speeding.

I have 87,000 miles on my trailblazer this is the first problem I have had. All the gauges go dead the brake and airbag lights come on and some times the speedodometer says you are going70. Chevy has a recall on the Silverado but none on the trailblazer. they have told me about 500 dollars to fix the problem

A friend owns a 2006 Chevy Silverado truck that has the same problem. the speedometer reads faster than the actual speed. If the truck is restarted several times without driving, the speedometer will eventually work its way back to 0 and read correctly for a few days.
