CarComplaints.com Notes: Carrying the not-so-proud traditions of its 2002 predecessor, the 2003 has a handful of instrument panel malfunctions that can leave you guessing your speed, engine temperature or how much gas is left in the tank.

About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Vehicle: 2003 Chevy Trailblazer ssue: Driverside seatbelt will inadvertently lock up when trying to buckle. When entering the vehicle, and reaching for the seatbelt, trying to pull the buckle over chest and buckle. The retractor (on occasion) will lock up, and not permit the webbing to move any further. This will occur for about 20 sec. Until the retractor loosens up, allowing the webbing to move. This vehicle has been in for service four times in the past year. Twice the retractor was replaced. Problem still persists.
I have owned my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer for just over four months now. I have had it serviced for a broken driver's side seatbelt three times, including today. When I took it in today, I'd only been driving it for about a week since the last seatbelt was replaced. Each time I take it in, they just replace the seatbelt, and they don't even investigate to see if there's a deeper problem. It's frustrating to have this many problems with a brand-new vehicle.
