CarComplaints.com Notes: Carrying the not-so-proud traditions of its 2002 predecessor, the 2003 has a handful of instrument panel malfunctions that can leave you guessing your speed, engine temperature or how much gas is left in the tank.

About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My 2003 Chevy Trailblazer was hit by another vehicle that ran a stop sign and struck the drivers side. This caused the front wheel and axel to break, caused the car to loose control, and flip end over end landing upside down. None of the front or side air bags worked.
Losing control of my vehicle on icy pavement, vehicle slid off of the road, head-on into a tree. Drivers side and passenger side air bags failed to deploy. Serious injuries occured, which may have been lessened if the safety features we pay for actually work. Er doctors and state police were terribly annoyed, since there have been several reports of same failure in design. No response from dealer or manufacturer, as of yet !!!
The air bag did not deploy after being hit by another vehicle on the driver's side. Minor muscular injuries were sustained. The consumer contacted the manufacturer who stated that unless one was hit directly in the center, the air bags would not deploy.
