CarComplaints.com Notes: Carrying the not-so-proud traditions of its 2002 predecessor, the 2003 has a handful of instrument panel malfunctions that can leave you guessing your speed, engine temperature or how much gas is left in the tank.

My driver seat caught fire went to open the door to find a hole in my driver seat and the roof top burnt as well. I also had a new fuel pump put in due to it leaking gas after put it. It continues to leak.
Takata recall I have a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer and my SUV was parked in the yard and I went to go to the store and opened my door and found the truck was full of smoke! my driver seat had caught on fire just sitting there. Not even cranked! it destroyed the seat and the top of the SUV and the roof melted all over the truck.
Driver's side seat was broken and repaired by dealer at the time I purchased it on 22 Dec 2012. Seat unexpectedly broke again while driving on il toll way. Nearly lost control. I am not a heavy person - 170 lbs., and was not on very bumpy road.
2003 Trailblazer developed a ticking when it was cold about 6 months after it was purchased in 2002. Dealer said it was normal and nothing to worry about. Now the radiator fan clutch is out and a dealer wants 790 dollars to fix it. We have 59000 miles on it now. I think everyone has had trouble with these and they should be recalled. Also the front stabilizer bar links failed about a year ago and we had to put new ones on. And the power seat mechanism broke about 5 years ago.

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact was driving approximately 5 mph and engaged the front driver side automatic seat positioning mechanism. Suddenly the left side of the seat activated to a higher level and the right side failed to respond. The contact discovered that the welding on the right side of the seat detached which resulted to the failure. The dealer was notified and they inform that there was not a recall related to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 140,580.
Gauges on instrument panel are not working properly. First one was speedometer then oil pressure gage and tachometer. I am sure more will follow. Also electric seat no longer moves forward or backward.
