CarComplaints.com Notes: The Trailblazer emerged from an "upscale trim line" of the Blazer, but there's nothing upscale about its transmission problems or its wonky, unpredictable headlights.

About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I just had an alignment done on our 2002 Trailblazer and was told that the right front tie rod is going to need to be replaced. The mechanic showed me how much play was in the right front tire and wheel. It was atleast one half inch. There are no grease fittings on the 2002 Chevy Trailblazer because they are sealed. The mechanic said that for this to happen it would of not had enough grease put in at the factory. He also said that this is a major safety issue because the wheel can break at the tie rod and the front wheel will not be controllable.
