front end suspension was so rusted, it broke in half
We have had this Chevy Tracker since June, 2005 and it's been great! EXCEPT earlier this year, we started having trouble with the brakes wanting to pull to one side, so took it down to a local auto shop and then is when we found out it was MUCH MORE of a DANGEROUS situation!! It wasn't the brakes at all, it was the front end cross member suspension bar. IT WAS BROKE IN HALF!! This could have caused a very serious accident or possible death had we not caught it in time!! The shop told us to call the Chevrolet Recall Center to ask about a recall on this suspension bar. We done just that and the lady said that letters were originally sent out at some point (she didn't state when) and when my husband told her, "I never received that letter" she stated that "well, there wasn't anything she could do about it." WHAT?! Instead of her taking our names, looking into it and/or re-sending us a letter, she chose to blow us off! Great service, right? NOT!
We still have the original cross member bar here at home and can PROVE we had it replaced on Jan. 6, 2016 at a local auto shop here in our town. We expect this cost to us to be reimbursed since we "never" received the re-call letter and KNOW there was a recall on these suspensions a while back. This is NO fault of our own, so again, we expect to be contacted regarding this situation ASAP! Please! Do the "right" thing for a long time Chevrolet owner....
