The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker. The contact stated that the front driver and passenger seat belts were inoperable. After retracting the belt to use once, they would not retract again. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised the contact that she would have to pay for the repairs to the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 180,000.
Front passenger's side seatbelt will lock up without having to pull the shoulder belt all the way out, causing passenger to unbuckle seatbelt, resulting in loss of protection.
