I was in the market for a used SUV. My older sister had recently purchased a brand new 2017 Tahoe and it was beautiful. I found a 2008 that met my needs price wise and size wise. I had the vehicle 2 days and the check engine light came on. I took it back to the dealership and they advised me that the hybrid system needed to be updated. Didn't appear to be a big deal. My fiancé took the Tahoe to Chapman Chevrolet for a full diagnostic check. Chapman found nothing wrong with the vehicle and didn't even charge him for the testing. A few days later the truck was driving very rough and shut down when I had my daughter in the car on the way to drop her off at school. My fiancé took the car to autozone where they verified it was a misfire. I called the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and was advised they had no mechanics in the shop until after the holiday. I took Tahoe in Jan 2nd. 2 days l received a call from them stating that the car zero oil and now needed half of the motor rebuilt and none of it was covered. I had only made 1 payment on the Tahoe and don't even have plates for the vehicle. I don't know how Gm can be aware of such a costly and common issue and have people riding around in such an unsafe vehicle. I guess they are waiting for someone to die before they do anything about it. They clearly don't value their customers or the safety issues that their vehicles are causing
