Car started ticking and loosing power Exited and car stalled and car towed to nearest dealer Capital Chevrolet in Montgomery Al. It has been there since 5-26-23. They first told us engine crankshaft blown, then said they will repair but parts on back order and no estimated EPA. GM customer service has been involved but no help.
Tahoe will not start nor will it allow to be jumped by another vechicle. Tahoe is kept in garage this is the 4th time this has happened. Dealer replaced the battery first time saying that was the culprit, second time they could not find a root cause, and same for third time. I see this is a common problem with engine, battery and electrical of the 2022 tahoe. I do not feel safe in it knowing this could cut off on me driving down the interstate.
On June 1st, I was put in a very dangerous situation while driving on the highway. Out of nowhere, my vehicle-??s engine started clicking and immediately converted to a rough in the middle of highway traffic. I was terribly afraid from my life. I was headed to Duluth, GA for a meeting but had turn around and drive 31 miles back in rush hour traffic to Steve Reyman Chevrolet Dealership, in cobb county in this condition. I was extremely stressed; afraid that i could potentially be injured in an accident or fire, because of the engine. Several never before seen warning signals appeared. These signals included Service ESC, Service Traction Control, Forward Collision System Unavailable and the check engine light. I had just had my truck serviced on 5/26, as the dealership had been monitoring the oil consumption of my 2022 Tahoe. By the time, I arrived to the dealership, the service department was closed, so the vehicle was left overnight. I met with the service advisor in the morning and was told there was a cylinder 4 misfire and that a fuel injector and spark plugs was needed. After picking up, my vehicle on June 12th, the issued was not resolved and my vehicle was inoperable. I regularly service my vehicle including recommended service, so I-??m not sure how something this extreme could happen. Looking back at my service records, there have been several occurrences where the vehicle stalled out and the dealer blamed the auto/start stop feature or a failed battery. All pretty ridiculous claims for a brand new truck. I-??m convinced this vehicle was produced poorly. My truck has 72,325 miles on it, however I came across several forums with new body Tahoes & Suburbans with way less mileage (i.e. 4300 miles) that experienced the exact same issue. Attached, you will find all the times, I brought my vehicle in for service for a major concerning issue.
vehicle has 5500 miles on it, bought new in July 2022, driving on the interstate at night, vehicle shut down without warning, no warning light or check engine lights came on. Had to have it towed to the dealership and they said it had complete engine failure and have to replace the engine. Barley got it off the interstate, lucky no one was hurt.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and the contact informed that the system was being updated and was interrupted while attempting to start-up. While driving approximately 25-30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The message -??No Key Detected-?? was displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the same dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to the gateway serial data module. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 4,984. The VIN was not available.
Will coming to a stop the vehicle would just stall. Didn-??t notice the dash saying to restart and as let off of break the truck started to roll backwards almost hit car behind me. Did this about 7 more times. Made appointment with dealership and they told me there was no problem found.
With 8500 miles while driving the engine started ticking, jerks on acceleration, Trans shifting very slow and a light warning with -??reduced acceleration while driving-?? came on. Then immediately after the Instrument panels warning lights indicated service traction control, forward collision system unavailable, and check engine light all illuminated. Then car stopped accelerating and was almost rear ended on highway. Luckily no one was hurt. What is GM/Chevy doing to fix this issue. Apparently, this is common issue with the new Tahoes.
While driving, I heard a ticking noise, that sounded like rocks being thrown in the fender well. The more I drove, the sound and frequency increased. Then, I started to lose power, like it was taking longer to shift. My safety and others were at risk because continuing to drive with lifter issues could-??ve caused engine failure, which could-??ve caused an accident. The problem was confirmed at a dealership. I don-??t know if anyone else inspected it. No lights appeared until after I had it towed to the dealership. They said the warning lights came on for them.
