I have not had a wreck but the fact that when you press the brake pedal the dome lights blink and when you turn on the left turn signal, the dome lights blink. If you hold down the brake like if you-??re at a traffic light the dome lights blink continuously until you let off the brake. Now, during the day, that-??s no big problem but at night it poses a serious safety risk. A bright light in your eyes while driving is blinding and a sudden bright light in the pitch black dark could lead to an accident. I called the dealer to ask about it and was told yeah, they knew about it and it would cost me like $550 to repair even though it was a defect that they readily acknowledge.
On several occasions at various speeds, both driving straight and turning, my 2015 Chevy Tahoe has turned off. During higher speeds the SUV will turn back on, instantly, by itself but during lower speeds and turning the car has to be manual turned back on by switching into neutral, pressing the break, and pushing the start button. The most recent time this has happened, it was dark outside and I was turning. I lost everything including my head and tail lights so it was hard for oncoming traffic to see me. I also almost hit someone coming in the other lane because I was unable to fully turn due to the loss of power steering. After this happens, I get many warning/action required messages across the dashboard but no check engine light or code have come up. I will be taking it to the dealer but since it does not happen every time the care is driven, I can only hope they can experience what happens.
Second Inquiry on this problem, a detailed description was sent previously and no response was ever received. 2015 Chevy Tahoe in short, interior LED lights flash when ever the brake is applied. Interior LED lights flash when left turn signal is activated. Dealer stated that a Service Bulletin was created for this issue as an obvious safety issue at night. Electrical tape over the second seat LED's Dealer wanted at the time $180 to remedy the problem. (Documented) Dealer on next recall visit, Customer Service stated that they were unaware of such an issue, and also that this was the first that he had heard of it. Internet is well aware of the electrical issue.
Dome lights keep flickering. Not specific to any light. All of them flash sporadically. Looks like a camera flash at night. It is beyond distracting at night and the dealership could not find what is causing it to happen. It is making driving at night dangerous because it is distracting because it can sometimes flash non stop like a strobe light.
Braking systems not working properly. The vehicle failed to stop when applying the brake pedal. All brake pads are good; brake calipers are new; brake fluid is at max. I replaced everything I found online, but the issue is there on the vehicle. Dome light issue: The interior dome lights on the vehicle flashes constantly while driving.
The electrical software isn't functioning properly. The radio, onstar, the door/seat belt chimes don't work. None of the electrical works in the vehicle. I was driving and when I pressed on the brake and turning, the dome lights start to flicker making it difficult to see other cars at night. The back doors don't always lock when locking them.
Not long after I purchased my Tahoe new I noticed moisture in the headlights, more so on the passenger side. I had the vehicle brought in for an ac recall and the dealer didn't notice or fix the problem. After the warranty expired I started getting accumulating water in the light assembly which would corrode the blinker holder making it inoperable. So I either have to change the blinker holder or replace the entire light assembly. I feel like the dealer should have noticed the issue when it was in the shop for the ac recall.
An issue that I have had since the used vehicle was purchased in 2016 superior interior led lighting, however:: activate left turn signal or step on the brakes, these interior bright led cabin lights flash brightly and intermittently. Stopped at an intersection, it's embarrassing, interior led lighting continues to flash as if there was a strobe within the interior cabin, when my foot on brake and or left turn signal. Hazard / 4-way activate the interior lights also. At night distraction for myself as an operator, safety issue- reflection off the windshield during hours of darkness, annoyance to all passengers 'disco car' black electrical tape was placed over the mid-cabin interior light, youngest son hates to ride in the vehicle because of the lighting issue. Visible and obvious to other motorists during hours of darkness when stopped aside, front and/or rear of the vehicle. Dealership ' $180 to fix, also that a service bulletin exists, advised to wait for re-call - back for re-call approximately 1 year later, service rep stated, still no re-call. I was advised at that time, by the "same" service rep in the service department, at the same dealership, that they, (Chevrolet) are currently un-aware of any such issue with the interior lighting. I have been a police officer for nearly 40 years assigned to traffic division. Re-constructionist, with extensive accident reconstruction training and investigations / 15 years certified through cvsa. Previous unrelated re-call notices, Chevrolet is claiming a cause of 'potential customer annoyance', let me tell you, it's annoying. Recalls again about other unrelated issues, Chevrolet claims to be 'concerned about your safety and continued satisfaction with our products' I'm also concerned about my safety as well as my passengers. My Tahoe showed stabilitrak issues when I first bought it a year ago. I received a recall notice and took it into the nearest dealer. It was ok for awhile but the same problem started again a month ago. The truck turns on and off for about 1 second as I'm pulling into a parking space. However, now I've had issues when I try to lock it with the fob; it does nothing. I have been stranded at a business because it won't turn back on and I have to wait awhile and try to crank it. It comes back on but this has happened to me more than 3 times. Now, I was driving to work and as I pulled into my work garage, everything turned off completely and this time nothing came back on. I had to quickly turn the ignition key to the off position, thankfully I had my foot on the brake and I had to turn it back on again. I was worried because this is in the downtown area and this is a very busy city street in the morning hours. I was lucky it turned back on at all. Another time, I could not start my truck when I got off of work and I was stuck on the 3rd floor of my parking garage. I am concerned that I'll be driving and all of a sudden this Tahoe will shut off while I'm in traffic. I have to travel 3 freeways to get to work and back home during heavy traffic, I'm worried about my safety and others as well because since this is an issue where the truck turns off completely, I will have no control on getting hit or hitting someone else at a high rate of speed (65 mph)
My 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe ltz's headlights have developed condensation inside of them. The driver side light has an inch of standing water in it and now the turn signal and led running light no longer work on that side. Chevrolet said it will cost over $2,000 to replace both headlights. I know several other Tahoe owners that have the same problem and our local police department has also had to replace headlights in several of their patrol Tahoe. Chevy needs to issue a recall on their defective product!!!
The front left headlight is in excellent condition but fills with condensation upon washing the vehicle and during rain storms. When driving at night under these conditions visibility is poor. This is a safety hazard and needs to be rectified by GM with a safety recall.
While the vehicle is in motion, and the interior dome lights are off, I press the brake pedal, and the dome lights flicker very intensely for a half-second. This flickering also happens when the left turn signal is activated. It is a very bright flicker and could cause an accident due to momentary distraction or light-blinding.
I purchased my vehicle'2015 Chevy Tahoe lt on July 1, 2019 I have had intermittent glitches in the electrical system. The headlights, dash lights, and mylink touchscreen will completely black out and then come back on. However, when this happens the steering wheel locks up for a split second. This is happening while driving, at speeds over 50mph, during the night and day. It was suspected to be the alternator or battery, after replacing the alternator there was no change in the behavior. It continues to happen. The service stabilitrack warning will also pop up after the power is restored. This issue is very dangerous and after reading dozens of forums it's clear this is not an isolated incident. This has happened over and over at least 20 times since July 2019, randomly and completely unexpectedly.
Every time I press the brake or use my directional all the interior lights flash. Its extremely distracting when I drive at night. I did't know I could report this here. I spoke with my dealer last year and he told me it would be very involved to fix since my warranty was up. He said if it doesnt bother you that much it would be better to leave it. :(
The left headlight assembly had moisture and the left turn front turn signal quit working causing an error code. The dealer said there was no recall so I had a body shop replace the entire assembly. Approximately 2 months and there is moisture in the new left headlight. This is a safety issue.
The interior lights flicker whenever the vehicle's brakes or left blinder is used. The flickering causes distraction for the driver and passengers. Flickering hurts eyes, in addition causing headaches and potential for seizures. Flickering occurs when the vehicle is in motion and when the breaks are used and/or the left blinker is turned on. This is especially disruptive with inner city driving.
First off, my dome lights. They flicker on and off every time I hit my breaks or every time I turn my left blinker on. Secondly, my air conditioner! I live in a very hot and humid state. I have already fixed the A/C in my Tahoe once at the beginning of the summer. Now I am having the exact same issue as I was then.
