CarComplaints.com Notes: This might be the Tahoe sweet spot. The 2013 has a great safety rating (as long as you don't roll it over), tons of room and few complaints. What it doesn't have is the interior accessory problems of the older or newer generations.

Transmission, vehicle stops functioning without notice on the road while driving acceleration stops. The problem was confirmed to be a transmission failure by chevrolet. The inspection was done by chevrolet to confirm the transmission has failed. The vehicle started to jump when sitting still and the drive train for 2wheel/4whell did stop working it only allowed the vehicle to be moved in 2whell drive. This happened after the vehicle went over 100k miles and when I took it to chevrolet they said nothing was wrong with it, they said "it's an old car". When the car is driven over 35/40mph the vehicle now shakes along with it stopping to function while driving. Even with chevrolet verifying that the transmission is bad(which is the recall on Tahoe models from the same year of production) they refuse to acknowledge it is all models unless it's on a specific list of vin numbers. They refuse to replace the transmission recall at no cost according to the current recall that was done already for this year make and model. I've had all engine tune up maintenance requirements done and have not missed any vehicle scheduled maintenance this vehicle year make and model is on the recall list and I've attached the copy of it to show proof of the record. The record was provided by chevrolet, along with the record of NHTSA recalls to show this is the same year make and model but the vin isn't included, as well as the recalls they listed to show that zero apply to this vehicle when this is clearly the same exact symptoms listed on the recall but this vin isn't listed when it should be if the same exact symptoms are failing on the vehicle with maintenance kept up.

While driving vehicle continues to drop into reduced power mode causing a jarring motion as it drops a significant amount of speed, almost causing multiple accidents. The check engine light comes on, traction control turns off, stabillitrack turns off, and engine goes into limp mode and starts shaking and jarring. The same 2 codes continue to come up in diagnosis. P2135 and P2176. I have taken the vehicle to three mechanics 1 of them being Chevy its self. With no solution found. I have had the acceleration pedal replaced, the wiring replaced, the ignition switch and relay replaced had the throttle body connector replaced, the throttle body and gasket replaced 3 times. I have done everything recommended by all shops including Chevy. Please help as the truck has been in the shop more then it has been on the road and I have almost been in multiple accidents as the truck is difficult to control when the issue happens.

While driving around 60 mph the car does a massive shake. Check engine light comes on, stabilization turns off, traction controls turns off and engine power is reduced first to 10mph and could not get more than 30mph. I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler due to my sudden stop. The SUV is now in engine power reduced mode.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle hesitated and lost power as if it would stall without warning. The air bag light illuminated and the vehicle did not respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that the radio powered on and off. The doors locked and unlocked on their own. The contact pulled the vehicle over, waited a few minutes, and proceeded to drive. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. Representative from the city writes in regards to problems with police fleet. The consumer stated after the new engine calibrations were installed on seven vehicles, less than 24 hours later, the problem continued, along with additional issues and problems that were never experienced before. Specifically, the vehicles lunged forward aggressively after coming to a stop. GM eventually removed the calibrations. The issue with the vehicles stalling, lack of power, idle surging and hesitation upon acceleration, continued.

While driving the speedometer is showing 0 on both the digital display and analog needle display. Also it is showing that the vehicle is in park. Only by pulling over and starting the car up again (~5 minutes), the problem goes away.
