CarComplaints.com Notes: This might be the Tahoe sweet spot. The 2013 has a great safety rating (as long as you don't roll it over), tons of room and few complaints. What it doesn't have is the interior accessory problems of the older or newer generations.

This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.

Dashboard has become cracked around the passenger side airbag and the dashboard also has numerous other cracks. The cracks have developed over the time since I purchased the vehicle in September 2015. There are thousands of pictures relating to this issue circulating online. I also purchased the best warranty GM offers, including the bumper to bumper warranty, but that didn't include the dashboard as I was told.
Cracks have developed at the center and passenger side areas of the dashboard and appear to be growing as the dash cools and warms. The vehicle was stationary for several days prior to noticing the cracks. The passenger side crack, like many others have reported, is at the right rear corner of the airbag containment area on the dash. This crack is especially concerning as it looks to be under pressure and bulging. My biggest concern at this point is the airbag going off prematurely while we are driving.
The purpose for this communication is to let you know I've been having issues with the dashboard on my car that mechanics believe will effect the airbag. At this point I'm at a bit of a loss for words and understanding with this particular situation. The dashboard has multiple cracks throughout. The car has 87,000 miles and has been garaged for its entire ownership and well maintained. The biggest issue surrounding the cracks in the dashboard is that they've formed around the front passenger airbag, which multiple dealerships have told me is a safety hazard. That being said, the dealerships and the associate I spoke to at Chevrolet customer assistance team has said they've seen this issue multiple times and they're surprised there hasn't been a recall issued. I honestly wouldn't care about the cracks if they weren't surrounding the airbag. Pictures of my car included. VIN number [xxx] after researching through multiple dealerships and online there seems to be a large number of customers with the same exact problem and there are current lawsuits pending against GM, please follow the link: www.abcactionnews.com/money/consumer/taking-action-for-you/another-big-auto-maker-gets-hit-with-A-suit-over-cracking-dash-boards https://www.change.org/P/recall-2007-2013-vehicles-due-to-the-safety-of-cracked-dashes if this isn't enough concern on your end to correct the issue and issue a recall I'm not sure what is. We bought a 2013 Chevy Tahoe in Jan 2016 with just under 30,000 miles with certified warranty. My dash started cracking at the driver side and at the passenger front dash airbag, we took it back to franklin Chevrolet in statesboro, ga. Well under 48,000 miles to let them know what is going on, the service manager [xxx] told my husband that the dash was not covered under the warranty and did not ask to look at it to see if it was something that needed to be addressed. I have seen several cases on these issue, I'd like to have the problem taken care of before it cracks more and the airbag start having issues since it's cracking at the dash where the airbag is at, it's making noises every time I drive down the road and pretty sure it's only going to get worse over time.
