CarComplaints.com Notes: It's roomy, but very poor gas mileage for its class.
The EPA estimates 14MPG around town, but you'd be lucky to break double digits if you like A/C or have any hills in your town.

My vehicle is well maintained and looked after carefully. While driving the check engine light came on. After work I drove it to the dealership but whilst on the highway, it would not go over 45 miles per hour!
The dealership told me the code came back that the timing chins were bad and would need to be replaced. There are recalls for this issue on 2007- 2009 Traverses and other vehicles.
The price to be fixed by Chevy Dealer would be almost $5,000-$7,000 due to the length of labor! I spoke to 3 other dealerships and was told the same thing.
However they suggest a new engine. A new engine would cost 4-5,000 and would require 13-20 hours of labor. This would come up to about $10,000 DOLLARS!
The dealership also suggested that I buy a new engine and replace it because similar engines have also had issues with other parts of the 3.6 engine.
The auto maker knows this is an issue! I was told to have it fixed and hope it gets recalled. Now I owe $12,000 on a vehicle that doesn't drive. GM financial suggested my options were to pay or ruin my credit by defaulting.
If you're considering this vehicle I would advise against it!
All the above is True and not inflated in any way.
