Tahoe LT 5.3L

Both rear door lock actuators failed and we are unable to unlock the doors without crawling over the console with a long object to reach the manual lock. This is not acceptable when we have the young grandchildren in their car seats and they are unable to unlock the doors. This is definitely a safety issue. This is the 3rd time the actuators have failed. The manufacturer should have recalled these years ago, as the dealer price to replace is now about 600 per door.

Driver door lock actuator failed, dealer price to fix was 450+. I did not have the dealer fix. I found parts and replaced myself for $100 and 2 hours of labor. I found that this is a common failure on Tahoes and other GM products and there should have been a program to fix.

3 out of 4 door locks failed. GM charges $225 for each part. Got aftermarket ones from online and Erik Fine. This is a common design flaw on these vehicles.

The drivers side door lock on my Tahoe quit working with the remote and the interior buttons. You have to manually lock/unlock the door. I've researched and it is a common issue and am expecting my other doors to all fail eventually as well.
