Multiple dash cracks around steering column and more concernedly around passenger air bag. This is separate from the airbag recall that currently exists. The dash being cracked around this particular point would cause vinyl shrapnel to be sent throughout the cabin of the vehicle presenting a serious safety hazard. This is the only place on the vehicle these cracks are happening even though much of the interior is finished with this same type of vinyl.
The door handles on my 2008 Chevy Tahoe Z71 are chrome plated and have delaminated and cut my hands several times upon opening the door while stationary. I saw a recall was issued for 2007 models but never for 2008. The issue is occurring in these vehicles as well.
The dashboard on my Chevy Tahoe is cracking. It began with one very small crack and now it has spread to the airbag compartment. The cracks have become so bad that the airbag compartment on the passenger side has begun to protrude above the surface of the dashboard.

Dashboard has 3 large cracks. Started as a small stress crack then spread throughout the dash. This is a known problem with the 08-14 GM vehicles ( Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche) this happened as the car was stationary. This is very unsafe as the crack can spread and/or break during driving, GM needs to address this major concern
Dashboard has cracked adjacent to corner of passenger side airbag panel and along top of driver side instrument cluster panel. Cracks were noticed upon entering vehicle after it being parked in front of home overnight. The cracked dashboard is a safety concern in that shards of the plastic may break off during an accident and/or during deployment of the airbags, impaling the passengers.
Have two area on my, dash board where. Cracks are located, running from the steering to the passage side. Never use any cleaning products, just a damp towel.
There is a crack in the dash that extends from the passenger side airbag area. I am concerned with the fact that if the airbag were to deploy it could propel plastic material into the cabin and at the passengers.

Dashboard is cracking around the airbag and on top of the odometer/ speed and is a safety issue if passenger side airbag goes off. Potential for it to shoot plastic shrapnel into cabin and it's occupants. I have children and I feel unsecured riding my truck.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard of the vehicle was fractured in several places, which could cause injuries. The vehicle was diagnosed, but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was 54,398.
Dash has cracked in multiple places. First crack is on right side of dash, top left of the air bag panel. Second crack is on left side of dash over the instrument panel. Most people don't think about a cracked dash being dangerous. However, if the airbags are deployed, fragments could become projectiles that can harm passengers. Chevrolet/GM needs to make this right.
My dashboard recently cracked on its own in several locations including around the passenger side airbag and in front of the drivers console. It seems as if this is some sort of defect in the manufacturing process. It split all the way through. My main concern is the pieces next to the airbag may become projectiles if the airbags were to ever be deployed. GM and Chevrolet dealerships refuse to address the issue after numerous complaints.
The door handles on my Tahoe have broken off at the post in the door. This is a common occurence for this model according to the data on the internet. The plastic handle easily breaks off from the metal post over time. This is not from excessive use or force this is just a design flaw with inferior materials. Both the passenger and driver side handles have broken off. The situation just contuinued to get worse over the last year. This vehicle is garaged 90% of the time only being driven as a pleasure vehicle. The doors broke when the vehicle was parked.
