The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that after taking the vehicle to the dealer for NHTSA campaign number: 10V240000, (electrical system), the contact was informed that the heated washer module would be permanently disabled and removed from the vehicle. The contact indicated that by removing the heated washer fluid module from the vehicle, he would be unable to remove ice from the windshield during icy weather conditions. The heated washer module was an added expense when the vehicle was purchased. The dealer confirmed that they would not honor the recall repair until they revised the vehicle so that no one could install any type of heated washer modules in the vehicle. The contact requested that the dealer replace the module with a NHTSA approved replacement module but the dealer refused. The contact had not experienced a failure.
